Members of the county's Executive Committee are chosen by legislators in the county delegation (made up of all state reps from Hillsborough County). A proscribed number of members are chosen from Nashua, Manchester, and the combined towns.
The primary role of the committee is to review the proposed annual budgets for all the county departments after the county's Board of Commissioners makes its recommendations, and then pass on the committee's version to the county delegation as a whole.
The committee meets throughout the year to take up any budget issues that arise.
